When you visit the Lifelong Learning website (the "Website"), and more generally, use any of our services (the "Services", which include the Website), we appreciate that you are trusting us with your personal information. In this privacy notice, we seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information we collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it. Affiliates include (a) all institutions, organizations and agencies of the Ismaili community (including, but not limited to, His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Councils for each respective jurisdiction, and other boards and portfolios), (b) all institutions, organizations and agencies of, or within, the Aga Khan Development Network, (c) the respective decision-makers, principals, organizers, leaders, members, officers, employees, staff, volunteers, representatives, attorneys, and agents of one or more of the institutions, organizations or agencies of the Ismaili community, and (d) the respective decision-makers, principals, organizers, leaders, members, officers, employees, staff, volunteers, representatives, attorneys, and agents of one or more of the institutions, organizations or agencies of, or within, the Aga Khan Development Network.
5.1. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk. You should only access the Website within a secure environment.
Please be advised the Services are hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from any other region of the world with laws or other requirements governing personal data collection, use, or disclosure that differ from applicable laws in the United States, then through your continued use of the Services, you are transferring your data to the United States, and you agree to have your data transferred to and processed in the United States.
8. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
9. DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine The Light" law, permits our users who are California residents to request and obtain from us, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared personal information in the immediately preceding calendar year.
